Samuel Pendleton, Jr.

Associate Minister

Samuel C. Pendleton, Jr., the youngest of three children, was raised in Harrisburg, PA. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Principle Instructor and Drill Sergeant in the NJ Army Reserve. Samuel received his BA degree in Psychology/Social Development from Bloomfield College in 1984 and is presently pursuing a Master’s degree in Theological Study.

Minister Pendleton has been a member of St. Paul Baptist Church for 40+ years. During his time at St. Paul he served as Church Clerk and Trustee Board member and Chair. Along with former Sr. Pastor v. Dwayne Battle, he initiated the Footsteps and Lamplights Bible Reading Ministry and, more recently was an instructor for Wednesday Evening Bible Study. In accepting his call to ministry, Minister Pendleton preached his initial sermon at St. Paul in June 2007.

Samuel retired from IBM Corporation after 31 years and is currently employed by N.J. Transit. He has served on the Executive Board for American Baptist Churches of New Jersey, and has served as Vice Moderator for the Essex Association. He and his wife, Norma reside in West Orange, NJ.
